Man Utd shirt numbers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could wear if transfer happens
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of the summer transfer window.
Man Utd: Durham suggests three possible transfer targets
Manchester United are reportedly mulling over whether to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal when the transfer window reopens. The Gabon international could follow in the footsteps of Robin van Persie and Alexis Sanchez by making a sensational move to Old Trafford - one that would surely rile Gunners fans along the way.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a new striker when the transfer window reopens.
Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have all impressed at Old Trafford, with Odion Ighalo shining on loan.
United could sign Ighalo permanently come the summer but, regardless of what they do with the Nigeria international, they’re expected to sign another striker too.
And Arsenal hitman Aubameyang would add a ruthless edge to their frontline, with the Gabon international one of the deadliest players in the Premier League.
Express Sport now takes a look at the shirt numbers the United transfer target could wear if he swaps the Emirates for Old Trafford.

Number seven
The No 7 shirt is a special one for United.
From George Best to Eric Cantona, David Beckham to Cristiano Ronaldo, the shirt carries quite a legacy.
And with Alexis Sanchez not expected to return to United, Aubameyang could take the Chile international’s number.
Sanchez is out on loan and the Red Devils are keen to cut him loose.
And, given the No 7 shirt is given to the biggest and best players, United may be tempted to hand it to Aubameyang.
Number 11
As well as the No 7 jersey, the No 11 is also a special one for United.
It’s the kit number worn by Ryan Giggs throughout his glittering time at Old Trafford, one that saw the Wales international win 13 Premier League titles throughout his spell at the club.
Since Giggs’ exit, Adnan Januzaj and Anthony Martial have struggled with the number on their back.
And Aubameyang has the confidence required to do it justice.
Whether that happens, though, is something only time will tell.

Number 14
At Arsenal, Aubameyang wears the No 14 shirt.
He took it upon arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 and has proven himself to be a more than worthy heir to Thierry Henry, who previously wore the jersey.
And if he moves to United, the Gabon international may choose to stick with it.
He’s not put a foot wrong at Arsenal since his arrival and could consider the kit to be a lucky charm.
Number 19
United like it when their forwards wear the No 19 shirt.
Dwight Yorke thrived with the number on his back throughout his time at the club, with the likes of Danny Welbeck, James Wilson and Marcus Rashford wearing it in the years since.
Again, Aubameyang may have to take it.
And whatever number the Arsenal star chooses to take, should a transfer happen, would be a big seller among supporters.
