Arsenal transfer meeting with Bayern Munich target Emil Roback confirmed by striker's club
Arsenal have already opened talks with Hammarby striker Emil Roback, with a view to bringing the youngster to the Emirates in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have already held transfer talks with Hammarby striker Emil Roback, the club’s sporting director Jesper Jansson has claimed. However, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta does face competition from Bayern Munich to sign the youngster.
Arteta is not only looking to overhaul his squad in the summer but is also looking to invest in the future and according to Hammarby sporting director, Jesper Jansson, Arsenal have already held talks with Roback about leaving the Swedish club.
The 16-year-old has been a member of the club’s academy for several years and this season he got promoted from Hammarby’s Under-17 team to their Under-19 side.
Roback is described as being a “natural scorer” with “extreme speed” by the club’s head scout Mikael Hjelmberg.
But the young striker’s development is also being monitored by Bayern Munich.

However, the Gunners are willing to pull out all the stops and Jansson claims Roback has not only already held talks with Arsenal but has also visited the north London club’s training facilities.
When asked about interest in Roback from Arsenal and Bayern Munich, Jansson told Swedish publication Fotboll Direkt: “It’s true that there are contacts with such clubs about his name.
“We were contacted and know about the interest. He has also met Arsenal.

"There’s a strong interest and there are more clubs as well.
"He’s also been to Arsenal. Yes, I understand the interest.
"He is a forward with a great physique and speed and already a skilled goalscorer.”
Jansson also confirmed that Roback has an apprenticeship contract with the Swedish club because “he is one of the names we believe in most” and when asked if Hammarby have been contacted directly by both Bayern and Arsenal, he added: “Yes we have.”
Roback scored three goals in three matches for Sweden Under-16s and has now been promoted to Under-17s squad.
