Coronavirus: Premier League matches suspended until April
Jamie Carragher has ironically apologised to Gary Neville on social media after hitting back at the Manchester United icon for a post mocking his view on the Premier League season being null and void. There are no Premier League games being played until April 3 at the earliest following a suspension due to fears over the spread of coronavirus.
There have been speculation though that games will unlikely be played that weekend, with a further suspension expected to be put in place.
That would result in a mass fixture pile-up with the end of the season scheduled to finish on May 17.
Moving back the final week of the Premier League has been proposed, but that would likely mean the postponement of the 2020 European Championships for a year, scheduled to get underway on June 12.
United hero Neville made it clear before the Premier League was suspended that he wanted to see the Euros postponed until 2021 to allow the domestic leagues to finish.

But since then there have been some suggesting the current Premier League campaign may not be able to be finished, meaning it could become null and void.
That would deny Liverpool winning their first title in 30 years, despite holding a 25-point lead over rivals Manchester City with just nine games remaining.
West Ham vice-chairwoman Karren Brady suggested the notion, with controversial TV presenter Piers Morgan backing up her comments.
Carragher angrily replied to Morgan's tweet, pointing out he wanted to see the season finishing when games were allowed to start again.
"The [football] authorities found a way to put a World Cup in the middle of a season so I'm sure they can sort next season out," Carragher tweeted.
Neville quickly picked up on Carragher's tweet, replying with a mocking selfie of him looking sad along with a crying emoji.
That prompted another angry response from the 2005 Champions League winner, pointing out how Neville previously stated he wanted the season to go ahead when it was safe to do so.
"The man who said the competition must finish at some stage to help smaller clubs, now retweets calls for it to be cancelled *Man facepalming emoji* must have forgot about the other clubs in @EFL
bet they all wish they had Peter Lim bank rolling them," Carragher tweeted.
