How are FPL double gameweeks formed?
Double gameweeks come as a result of a team having a ‘blank’ week, meaning they don’t play in a specific gameweek.
This is usually as a result of a club’s participation in other cup competitions.
The blank fixture is then rearranged to another free date in the calendar, meaning teams end up playing twice in the same gameweek.
When is the next FPL double gameweek?
Another double gameweek will form when Man City and Arsenal’s fixture is rearranged.
Teams will also incur blanks in GW31 due to the FA Cup quarter-finals and with the international break to follow, the blank games will also need to be rescheduled.
GW34 clashes with the FA Cup semi-finals but there is a free midweek period after this.
There is also space for a double gameweek during GW37.
