Man Utd: Bruno Fernandes is a ‘leader’ says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United still “need a little bit more quality” in their squad despite extending their unbeaten run to 10 matches on Sunday, claims former Manchester City defender Micah Richards. United are fifth in the Premier League table after beating Richards’ old side 2-0 at Old Trafford. Goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay saw off the reigning champions.

“We mentioned bridging the gap - these players have done well and they’re probably an easy group to manage.
“But if they want to be competing, they’re going to have to buy a little bit more quality.
“Do you think this team is good enough to break these teams down though?
“I think playing against Man City suited Man United today because ‘let’s drop deep, we know they have deficiencies at the back with the centre-backs, let’s try and get them on the counter attack’.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp is a huge fan of Fernandes and has spoken on the impact he has already made at United.
“[Fernandes] got 32 goals last year from midfield, it’s incredible numbers,” Redknapp said.
“You can see where he’s playing now, he’s almost got a free role, it suits him, he’s got a good platform.
“[Nemanja] Matic seems to have… I thought Matic’s career was finished here, he’s done alright, Fred as well, he did ever so well today.

“But I just think [Fernandes] adds a lot of quality. When you think of all the great midfield players that Man United have had, they haven’t had one in a while that stands out, that wants the ball, that looks the part. He just looks like a Man United player.
“It’s still early in his career but he looks like he’s going to be a brilliant signing.”
