The Foxes have yet to find a long-term replacement for Harry Maguire since they sold the England international to Manchester United for £80million last summer.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is in the market for another centre-back and the 22-year-old is on the club’s summer wish list.
According to Football Insider, Leicester have been impressed with how White has played for Leeds in the Championship this season.
The youngster is on a season-long loan at Elland Road, although the Yorkshire club have no option to buy White at the end of the season.

And after his performances for Leeds this season you can see why Brighton were reluctant to include such a clause into the deal.
The English centre-back is under contract with the Seagulls until 2022, but after having played every minute of every Championship game for Leeds this season he could be on his way out of Brighton in the summer.
Leicester know they will likely have to compete with United and Liverpool, but the Foxes hope an offer of regular first-team football, as well as Champions League football, will be enough to beat their rivals.

White has only made two appearances for Brighton’s first-team and prior to joining Leeds on loan, he had stints at League Two side Newport County and League One outfit Peterborough United.
Although White is a centre-back, Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has been working with him to improve his all-round game, which even includes playing him as a midfielder in training.
“When you play in a different position you always improve the player,” Bielsa said.
“When White is at centre-back, lots of times he does things like a midfielder.

“This secondary function is part of the primary function.
“When you change one player in his position it improves him, but you have to have these skills to adapt to a new position: mobility, technique, skill, coordination, behaviour to create play, but all these things you can see from watching.”
The report claims Brighton had valued White at £20m, but this was only three months into this season.
With several top teams now interested in the defender Brighton could look to ask for much more if they do choose to sell him in the summer.
