Liverpool have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Timo Werner in the summer transfer window. Jurgen Klopp is considering a swoop for the RB Leipzig forward as he plots to strengthen his ranks for next season.
Werner has admitted he is open to a move to the Premier League in the future.
"What do you say if a club comes knocking in the next two weeks, a club which is one of the favourites to win the Champions League and makes an incredible offer? Most likely every player would think about it," he said.
"I can generally imagine playing abroad one day, although I don't have any specific club where I want to be.
"I am open for everything. I was over in America for a holiday recently and English football was on all of the time. That's an exclamation mark for the Premier League. But there are also big, famous clubs and it would certainly be fun playing there."
Werner has enjoyed a brilliant campaign for Leipzig, scoring 25 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions.
The 23-year-old failed to find the back of the net in last night’s Bundesliga crunch clash against Bayern, however.
He missed a glorious chance in the second half from 10 yards out when clean through on goal.
Leipzig, who are one point behind Bayern in the table, have Werner tied down until the summer of 2023.
The deal, which he signed last summer, reportedly contains a release clause which could be as low as €50million (£42.5m).

Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann previously suggested he would advise Werner to leave if he felt it was best for his development.
“I’ve already advised many players to take off their wedding ring with their current club to move somewhere else,” he said.
“I’d do the same with Timo Werner if he were developing faster than the team at RB Leipzig.”
