The report from the Sunday Mirror claims that the Citizens could sign as many as five players during the summer transfer window.
Guardiola reportedly views the 22-point gap between City and Liverpool as evidence that his squad is in dangerous need of a revolution.
The Citizens have struggled this season after winning back-to-back league titles, and didn’t sign anybody during the January transfer window.
Most notably, their failure to replace Vincent Kompany was perhaps their biggest mistake - highlighted when Aymeric Laporte went down through injury at the end of August and only returned towards the end of last month.

And as a result, they are reportedly unwilling to suffer the same mistakes as they did last year, with seven players set to leave.
The reports states that youngsters Phil Foden, Eric Garcia, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle will be given more opportunities in the first team next season.
Speaking during the week, Guardiola admitted that he had all-but given up on the Premier League title.
He did, however, confirm that his season will be judged from now on based on their success in Europe. City face Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League.
