While Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said that he understood if King has an interest in returning to United.
"I love Josh as a player and person,” he said.
“I know what Manchester United means to him with his history with the club, so I understand his position."

United could also try and sign Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua while Salamon Rondon is also thought to have been explored.
Earlier in the window, United reportedly tried their hand at signing Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and PSG’s Edinson Cavani - but neither deal could be completed.
