Rangers: Defoe's injury could be a 'problem' reveals Gerrard
Rangers will swoop for Livingston’s Lyndon Dykes if they fail in their pursuit of Hibernian’s Florian Kamberi, it has been claimed. Gers boss Steven Gerrard is on the lookout for a new striker following a calf injury to veteran hitman Jermain Defoe.

Should those talks fail to bear fruit, Gerrard will turn his attention to acquiring the services of Dykes.
The Scottish Sun claim the Liverpool legend has been keeping tabs on the Livi striker and could be ‘tempted’ to table an offer for him in the coming hours.
Australian Dykes is said to be open to a move to Ibrox, though it’s likely Livingston will oppose him leaving the Almondvale Stadium.
Rangers are currently locked in talks with Burnley hitman Matej Vydra, who has only made a total of nine appearances for the Clarets this season.
And it's understood the Czech Republic international is on course to complete a loan move to Glasgow.
It’s no surprise that Gerrard is desperately scouring the market for reinforcements as he teased signings immediately after Defoe’s injury.
“It may possibly mean we try to sign another striker,” Gerrard said after Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Ross County when asked if Defoe’s injury could force his hand in the transfer market.
“I haven’t spoken to (sporting director) Ross Wilson about that situation yet. We have a couple of things brewing besides that.
“It might alter a few things, it depends on the extent of the injury. We’ll decide from there. In general, I’m confident we could add before the window closes.

"We will also assess Jermain’s situation and go from there.”
Rangers will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Aberdeen to Ibrox.
The Gers enter the match five points behind their bitter rivals and league leaders Celtic, who top the Scottish Premiership table with 61 points.
Rangers, however, do have a game in hand on the Hoops.
