Leeds: Bielsa says 'we need a striker as soon as possible'
Danny Murphy has urged Leeds to sign Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp in order to clinch promotion to the Premier League. Leeds have relied heavily on first-choice frontman Patrick Bamford to fire them to the Championship’s top-end this season.
Marcelo Bielsa admires the Englishman’s work-ethic and tactical aptitude but his affinity with the player led to Eddie Nketiah’s exit this month.
The Arsenal striker joined Leeds on a season-long loan but returned to his parent club in January after making just two league starts under Bielsa in the first half of the campaign.

Blades boss Chris Wilder spoke about Sharp’s future earlier this month, saying: “I spoke to him about three weeks ago about it, knowing what would come up in January.
“And rightly so. If I was in the Championship and needed someone to give us a boost in January and score us some goals between now and the end of the season and saw that Billy Sharp wasn't playing at Sheffield United, then I would be asking the question.
“Always the decision is with Billy. Obviously from an individual point of view, Billy is disappointed he's not playing. The decision is with him and if he comes to me and says he needs to be playing then I will respect that.”
The journeyman striker may well have played his last game for Sheffield United on Saturday as Wilder’s side won 2-0 a Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
