Sanchez spent a large part of this season out with a hamstring injury and Romano says it is in the balance as to whether Inter sign him permanently.
“At the moment it’s so difficult to understand what Inter will do with Alexis,” Romano added.
“As you said he had an injury so only now he’s going to start playing and to show his level. Inter are waiting.
“He can stay at Inter if he will perform at his best level, if not I think Alexis Sanchez will go back to Manchester United because Inter need an important striker also for the next season and they are waiting for what Alexis Sanchez can show with his skills.”

“For me now we're looking towards the next game against Burnley.
“Yeah, we're always looking to improve the squad, we're looking to improve the club, but from my mind now is not the time, Gary, to start that discussion.”
