Tottenham: Mourinho says his move was the 'correct' option
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho insists Spurs will deal with the allegations racist abuse was directed towards Antonio Rudiger internally. Referee Anthony Taylor was forced to stop the match against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, after the defender alleged he heard monkey chants coming from the Tottenham crowd.
Mourinho said that the referee followed protocol for dealing with racist incidents.
After Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta informed Taylor of the chants, the referee immediately ran over to Mourinho, Frank Lampard and the fourth official to explain the situation.
The stadium announcer was forced to inform fans that “racist behaviour among spectators is interfering with the game" as per protocol.
Mourinho said that Spurs will be aiming to deal with the incident in-house.
