They’re prepared to fall down the table during the transition years between squads, but expect their transfer vision to push the club back up the table shortly after.
Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), expect Jurgen Klopp to win the Premier League title this season, as well as next season, according to The Athletic.
After that, the current crop of players will start to enter the twilight of their careers.
The rebuild process will start to gather pace, with a number of youngsters already being lined up to replace the first-team stars.
During the transition period, the owners are prepared for the club to fall much further down the table.

FSG would like to see Gerrard return to Liverpool as manager one day.
He’s had a successful period as Rangers boss since taking over in June 2018.
The Gers finished second in his first season at the helm, having lost just six of their 38 league matches.
Rangers were nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, and 11 point ahead of third-placed Kilmarnock.

The manager has already revealed that four players are close to first-team action.
After he announced his contract extension at Liverpool, he said: “In the moment we have four fantastic players really close to the first team: Rhian Brewster, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams.
“Plus we have Caoimhin [Kelleher] as a goalkeeper.”
Liverpool are expected to field a team of youngsters for their Carabao Cup clash against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
