Everton: Ferguson 'proud' to be appointed caretaker manager
Everton will step up their search for a permanent manager this week but are happy to keep Duncan Ferguson at the helm until the appointment is made. According to the Daily Mirror, Ferguson’s successful debut in the dugout is giving the board some much needed breathing space during the ongoing scouting process and he will be in charge when they face Manchester United.
I’m here for as long as Everton want to be here, if they bring a new manager in tomorrow, then brilliant

The Toffees picked up an impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea at home on Saturday thanks to Richarlison’s header and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s double.
If the results continue to improve then the Goodison hero’s time in charge could be extended and that would also allow cub majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri more time to figure out the right manager for the summer.
The former striker, though, is happy to take on the role for as long as he is wanted and he is expected to take training on Tuesday and lead Everton against United on Sunday at Old Trafford with there being little need to replace him.
Ferguson said: “We will be back in on Tuesday. We will take it from there, really.

Everton have moved out of the relegation zone after their victory over Chelsea.
However, the Merseysiders are not out of the woods yet as they are only two points away from the danger zone.
The Toffees are also facing a tough run of fixtures ahead of them as they are scheduled to take on Leicester in the Carabao Cup and Arsenal in the Premier League after next week’s clash with United.
