Arsenal have opened talks with former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri to take over as the new manager, after Unai Emery was sacked at the Emirates Stadium earlier today.

Arsenal are interested in appointing Massimiliano Allegri as the club’s new manager, and talks have already started between the two parties. The Gunners are looking for a new manager after Unai Emery was sacked on Friday morning, following a Europa League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.

He also won the Italian league with AC Milan in 2011, as well as the Italian Cup on four occasions; all of which were with Juventus.
The Arsenal board are also interested in appointing Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager.
But, it’s unclear whether the current Wolves boss would be interested in moving to the north London side.
Mikel Arteta, Mauricio Pochettino and Eddie Howe have also been named as possible replacements for Emery.

Arsenal confirmed that the search for a new manager is already underway.

“The decision has been taken due to results and performances not being at the level required.
“We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibility for the first team as interim head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie to take us forward.”
