Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored the Reds’ second goal against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday night, but a Manchester United fan has cleverly proven that the Egyptian was offside by simply using his a tool on his iPhone.
Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp praises goals against Man City
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah scored for the Reds during their 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.
At the time, fans were wondering whether the forward was offside when Andrew Robertson crossed him the ball.
VAR opted not to cancel out the goal, despite an apparent check thing place.
But, one fan - who supports Manchester United - has used his phone to prove that Salah was offside.
The video clearly shows that the Liverpool striker was in an offside position
The fan simply took a screenshot of the incident, and then tilted the image to create a straight line.
He compared the line to the position of both Salah and City defender John Stones.
The video clearly shows that the Liverpool striker was in an offside position, with his knee ahead of the defensive line.
Amid the furore over whether Salah was offside or not, fans were left fuming that VAR didn’t take as much time to make a decision as it did for Sheffield United’s game against Tottenham on Saturday.

Sheffield United thought that they’d scored an equaliser against Tottenham, but it was ruled out for an offside in the build-up.
Officials took more than three minutes to analyse the positioning of both attackers and defenders.
Fans could even see the officials checking the exact body parts of the players. But, the same scrutiny wasn’t applied to Salah’s goal.
It took less than 30 seconds for Liverpool’s goal to be confirmed, giving them a huge boost in the top-of-the-table clash.
Meanwhile, Salah’s goal came after another controversial moment at Anfield, which saw Liverpool take the lead.
Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared to stretch out his arm and handle the ball inside his own box, when Raheem Sterling was waiting to pounce behind him.
Referee Michael Oliver chose not to award a penalty, and 22 seconds later, the Reds had the ball in the back of the net.
VAR checked the referee’s decision, and backed up Oliver’s original conclusion.
