Nathan Ake would be a good signing for Arsenal boss Unai Emery (Image: GETTY)
Arsenal are still in desperate need of defensive reinforcement and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake is who they must target in January.
David Luiz has failed to make the necessary improvement to Unai Emery’s back line since his summer arrival from Chelsea.
Rob Holding has a promising future and should play now he is fully fit.
But the Gunners are crying out for a long-term partner to Holding, so Express Sport have detailed the seven reasons why Ake would be the ideal candidate.

5. Left footed
Arsenal are lacking a left-footed centre-back, which is important when trying to play out.
Could also be useful on the left of a back three if Emery prefers that formation.
6. Age
At 24 Ake has the potential to be in the Arsenal side for seven or eight years.
Sokratis (31) and Luiz (32) are not long-term answers for the Gunners.
7. Better than current options
The bottom line is that Ake would be an upgrade on Arsenal’s current centre-backs.
Some may say that is not difficult, but there is also plenty of potential still left in him.
