Lingard was once a key player for United and regularly featured in their starting lineups but injuries in recent months and drops in form have led more appearances from the bench.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already urged his English midfielder to try and add more goals to his game.
Lingard has scored big goals for United, though, against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League but also in the FA Cup final in 2016 where he notched the winner.

Lingard, however, has failed to score for United since the FA Cup fourth round win over Arsenal in January.
And he’s also not been able to score in the Premier League since before last Christmas.
In the summer, United looked for midfield reinforcements such as Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Leicester’s James Maddison, but luckily for Lingard, those targets weren’t attainable.
