Frank Lampard gives blunt six-word reply when asked who Chelsea’s penalty-taker is
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave a blunt six-word response to being asked whether Jorginho was now the main penalty taker at Stamford Bridge, as Ross Barkley watched on while the Italian scored from the spot against Brighton.
When asked whether Jorginho was the main Chelsea penalty taker, he said: “Yes, he is. End of story.”
Jorginho held his nerve from 12 yards against the Seagulls, placing the ball into the bottom left-hand corner, while goalkeeper Mat Ryan remained rooted to the spot.
Lampard was very happy with the midfielder’s performance throughout the tie, adding that he’s an ideal role model for some of the less experienced players in the squad.

“He’s a leader on the pitch, I’m pleased with him,” said the Chelsea boss. “Young players can look up to him.”
Lampard said that the Blues needed a win at home, having failed to claim three points at Stamford Bridge so far this season.
“We needed the win,” he said. “We haven’t had a 90-minute game where we’ve controlled it enough.
