Without a shadow of a doubt, for me, he’s got every tool in the book to be the best midfielder in the world
Gary Rowett on Man Utd star Paul Pogba
“It seems that he seems to do it when he wants to do it, Pogba,” Rowett said on Sky Sports.
“I think that’s the challenge for him, isn’t it.
“That’s why I think people like Roy Keane are so frustrated with you.
“A club like Man United, you’ve got an opportunity to literally be the star performer every week.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, for me, he’s got every tool in the book to be the best midfielder in the world or be one of the best midfielders in the world.
"But that mentality sometimes, it just feels when you watch the game… I’m waiting tonight to see whether Pogba is hugely motivated or not.

Southampton legend Francis Benali agrees with Rowett that consistency is what Pogba is missing at the moment.

“Someone like Pogba has got to do it through his performances,” Benali said.
“Not everybody is going to be that leader out on the pitch, vocally or pulling the team on and off the pitch.
“Roy was critical of the side, he did it in a different way.
“But when players have the ability and talent like Pogba does, they’ve got to be doing it not just in one game in two or three or four, it’s got to be regular week in, week out.”
