Solskjaer said: “He's not trained the last few days. Hopefully, but not sure.
“We'll have a recovery day with everyone (Friday) and we'll see on Saturday.”
Solskjaer will not be able to call on Paul Pogba or Anthony Martial for the Premier League clash.
Both are yet to return to training after suffering injuries before the international break.
Pogba has an ankle problem while Martial is out with a thigh injury.

Luke Shaw is also definitely out with the left-back continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury.
It means the same line-up that started against Leicester could start again, should James pass his fitness test.
David de Gea will return in goal having been rested from the Europa League tie.
Mason Greenwood scored United’s only goal in the European clash, and could be in line for a start should James be injured.
And Solskjaer is looking forward to the clash as he aims to win his first away match since March.
