Paul Merson claims that Manchester City will find themselves in a lot of trouble if Liverpool defeat Chelsea on Saturday.
City suffered a shock 3-2 loss at Norwich last weekend and are now in second place, five points behind the Reds.
Things have got even worse for Pep Guardiola as he just learned he will be without the injured John Stones for up to five weeks due to a muscle problem he suffered during training.
This comes after Guardiola lost star defender Aymeric Laporte to a knee injury that could keep him out of action for over four months.

Merson believes the rest of City’s defenders, like Kyle Walker, need to step it up and improve their game after the loss to Norwich.
The Manchester giants’ title rivals Liverpool have been on fire as they have won all five of their first Premier League matches.
But Jurgen Klopp’s men are set for a difficult challenge as they will take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the weekend.
If the Blues fail to break the Champions League winners’ undefeated streak then City will be in trouble as their rivals’ momentum will grow even larger, according to Merson.

The Arsenal legend told Sky Sports: “Pep is without Laporte, so he needed to play his best team [against Norwich].
“Klopp does as he knows this is a league that can bite you.

“It looks like Stones' confidence is shot while Walker is just all pace.
