FIFA 2020: Sterling, Lingard and Félix show skills in game trailer
It won’t be long before EA Sports official release the FIFA 20 Standard version of the game, however, the game developers have released the top 100 players today, but the decision has seen several Premier League stars surprisingly left off the list.
Although the top 100 players list does includes multiple Premier League stars, some fans will be questioning why some players from Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have failed to make the cut.
While Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, City’s Aymeric Laporte and Liverpool’s Andy Roberston and Virgil van Dijk have made the grade in defence, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold and John Stones failed to make the cut.
Some might find Maguire absence from FIFA’s best player list a strange decision, given the 26-year-old is not only a key player for United and England, but is also the world’s most expensive defender, following his £80m transfer from Crystal Palace in the summer.
Similarly Alexander-Arnold has performed well for his club and country and not only helped Liverpool win the Champions League last year but also played an important part in Liverpool’s Premie League title challenge.
The Reds conceding the fewest amount of goals in the league, and only lost one game, last season but the 20-year-old will see Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal and Bayern Munich Joshua Kimmich rated ahead of him.
Also snubbed in defence is City’s Stones, who has won back-to-back Premier League titles in the last two seasons but will see Spurs’ Belgium duo of Alderweireld and Vertonghen rated higher than him.
In midfield Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum might feel hard done by with the released list as = despite winning the Champions League and both playing for their country in the Nations League semi-finals, they will find themselves rated lower than the likes of Valencia’s Daniel Parejo and Borussia Dortmund’s Axel Witsel, to name a few.

Also missing from the list is Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and while the 30-year-old has yet to feature for the Gunners this season, the playmaker has managed 32 goals and 52 assists in 166 Premier League appearances.
However, the retired German international player, will see the likes of Real Madrid’s James Rodríguez and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus rated higher than him.
Although the top 100 player list has been revealed by EA Sports, they have yet to release the player ratings.
That is due to be announced on September 9.
