Real Madrid may have two reasons for challenging Barcelona on Neymar transfer
REAL MADRID want to beat Barcelona to the signing of PSG star Neymar. And, other than wanting to pip their rivals to the forward, Los Blancos may want him to be their true Cristiano Ronaldo replacement.
Real Madrid will make ‘biggest effort’ to sign Neymar says pundit
Real Madrid want Neymar. Florentino Perez, the club’s president, has always wanted Neymar.
It still sits badly within him that he lost out on signing the Brazil international during his time as a teenage sensation at Santos. Then, Perez thought he was on the verge of signing one of the most talented prodigies in world football.
But Barcelona left them reeling by buying Neymar instead. And now they’re trying to do the same this summer.
As things stand, the Nou Camp is likely to be the player’s destination. He wants PSG to yield, with the Ligue 1 giants hoping for him to move to the Bernabeu instead.
Real want to get Neymar to boost morale. That seems to be the common consensus. That, as the fact it would put Barcelona’s noses out of joint.
But the reason may run deeper than that: Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid have splurged over £150million on new attacking faces this summer. Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic are expected to provide new dynamics to the club’s attack.
Except Perez isn’t so convinced.
Hazard has done nothing to help himself. What was he thinking, allegedly returning to pre-season training a whole STONE overweight?
Jovic, meanwhile, reportedly does not have the backing of manager Zinedine Zidane whatsoever.
