Celtic and Rangers title prediction dropped by Kris Boyd with theory over Old Firm clashes
KRIS BOYD is expecting the Scottish Premiership title race to go right down to the wire this season, and tipped the four Old Firm clashes between Celtic and Rangers to play a vital part in deciding who finishes top.
“For me, I think it’s going to come down to the four Old Firm games.
“That’s how it should be, I think that over the last few years Rangers, have closed that gap, and I feel as if now it’s close to a level where Rangers can challenge.
“We saw last season that Rangers won the two games here at Ibrox, if they’re able to do that this year and win the games against the rest, it puts them in a right good position to challenge at the top.
“Celtic have started the season like a house on fire as well, so it's got the making of an exciting title race.”

Rangers built on their last-gasp 2-1 win over Kilmarnock with a 6-1 demolition of Hibernian on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard has been keen to shun any talk of a possible title challenge this early in the season, but Boyd, who scored 138 goals for the club across two spells, has seen enough to suggest they could topple Celtic.
“The pace Rangers have up front is unbelievable, Jordan Jones especially," Boyd said.
“With Jermain Defoe up front, you know he’s going to score goals.

Rangers: Jermain Defoe on his hat-trick against Hibernian
“A perfect hat-trick yesterday, left foot, right foot, header - it just shows you that age is just a number.
“The Scottish Premiership is a difficult league to play in, you’re not going to come up here and get away with it if you’re not fit.
“I’m not saying they were unfit last season [Defoe and Steven Davis], but it takes time to get up to speed, they hadn’t been playing a lot of football, and now you’re starting to see the real Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe.
“Defoe will always score goals wherever he is, but Davis is one alongside Ryan Jack who could form a terrific partnership for Rangers.”
