Arsenal vs Newcastle: Premier League match preview
Liverpool got the new campaign underway with a 4-1 win over Norwich at Anfield on Friday night.
The Reds will be hoping to challenge Manchester City once again this season.
Pep Guardiola’s champions edged out Liverpool by just a single point to lift the Premier League trophy last term.
City also got their campaign off to a winning start with a 5-0 victory over West Ham as Raheem Sterling bagged a hat-trick.
"The most important thing was to start well and get the win. Once the second goal went in I thought we were brilliant," Sterling told BT Sport.
"It was quite difficult in the first half. Some of our touches were sloppy but once the team got into a rhythm the passes came and more chances came.
"With the players we have here there are competitions in training every day. It's a joy to put the ball in the back of the net."
Totttenham, meanwhile, had to come from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-1 in their opening Premier League fixture.
Sunday's action sees Newcastle host Arsenal while Chelsea travel to Manchester United.
