Man Utd told to get rid of ‘bad egg’ Paul Pogba if Real Madrid come knocking
MANCHESTER UNITED should sell want away star Paul Pogba to Real Madrid this summer.
That’s according to ex-Manchester City player Danny Mills.
Paul Pogba has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer amid strong interest from Real Madrid.
The midfielder is apparently keen to leave Old Trafford, after saying that he wanted “a fresh challenge”.
And Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane wants the Frenchman to become his latest ‘galactico’ signing after forking out £275m so far this window.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk show, Mills urged United to let the star leave, provided the right price is paid.
The ex-City defender referenced the poor transfer window United have had so far when explaining why the Red Devils would be better off without him.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side failed to recruit Paulo Dybala and Christian Eriksen, but both rejected a move to Old Trafford.
“The European transfer window shuts a little bit later on September 2,” he said.
“They wanted to get Dybala in but he didn’t want to go there.
“Eriksen to get that replacement for Pogba, that’s now not going to happen.
“It’s going to be very interesting. If they don’t get anybody else in, do they have enough to allow Pogba to leave?
“Again you have got this situation where the player is not happy, he doesn’t want to be there.
“We have seen him be very ineffective when he doesn’t put in his best performances and that caused a problem.
“In and around the dressing room, he is good friend with Lukaku, but he is very influential.
“You don’t need that bad egg spreading that feeling around the dressing room. You simply can’t have it.”
