The transfer domino effect that could impact Man Utd and Tottenham before deadline
THE English transfer window is set to close tomorrow yet there are a number of blockbuster deals that could be completed.
Man Utd: Eriksen would be an ‘ideal’ signing says Robson
Manchester United and Tottenham are expected to be active before then, with both clubs facing a race against the clock to complete deals which could change the fortunes of their season.
Yet there is one key transfer that could kickstart a domino effect among a host of top clubs.
Christian Eriksen to Manchester United
The Dane has been actively seeking a new challenge but has not received any options until Manchester United expressed an interest.
Spurs are willing to do business, cautious of the fact they could lose Eriksen for free next summer.
United chiefs are fearful that Real Madrid will return for Paul Pogba again once the English window closes, leaving them no time to replace the Frenchman should he depart.
Eriksen is a player United have been watching closely and has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since arriving in north London. He would definitely bring something different to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield.
Philippe Coutinho and Paulo Dybala to Tottenham
Should Eriksen be sold to Manchester United, Tottenham will then be encouraged to spend.
Spurs fans were given hope yesterday that Daniel Levy could put his hands into his pockets again before the deadline, with the club reportedly close to both Philippe Coutinho and Paulo Dybala.
The Times claim that Tottenham have made a loan offer for Coutinho with Barcelona set to charge around £21million.
Mauricio Pochettino is also said to have called the player he coached at Espanyol in a bid to persuade him to come to the club.
Tottenham are also actively working on a deal for Dybala too, with Sky Italia reporting that a bid of £64m has been accepted by Juventus.
They will need to strike a deal with the player and his representatives though, which will prove difficult as seen during recent talks with Manchester United.
Romelu Lukaku to Juventus
The initial reason why Dybala was linked with Manchester United was because Juventus had set their sights on Lukaku.
Maurizio Sarri wants to sign the Belgian and was keen to offer Dybala as a sweetener because the Bianconeri could not afford a straight cash deal.
So if the Argentine moves to Tottenham, that should allow Juventus to complete a deal for the Manchester United striker.
He is still training with Anderlecht while his future is resolved.
Paul Pogba to Real Madrid
Speculation linking Pogba to Real Madrid just won’t go away and that’s because Zinedine Zidane is so desperate to land him.
Should United sign Eriksen, that will offer Florentino Perez encouragement that the Frenchman will be available.
Los Blancos have already had an offer of £27.6m plus James Rodriguez turned away by Ed Woodward.
Real Madrid want to sign a central midfielder before the window closes and Pogba is seen as the final piece of the puzzle, he wants the move and United are living in fear.

Donny van de Beek to Real Madrid
The Dutchman confirmed over the weekend that Real Madrid were in talks with his agent.
However the deal could collapse should Pogba become available, as the La Liga giants do not have the cash for both.
Van de Beek is likely to be a cheaper alternative to the World Cup winner and they could pursue the deal should United hold firm.
The interest also suggests that Real Madrid will not be looking to sign Christian Eriksen.
