How Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reacted to Real Madrid's Paul Pogba pursuit
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been left angered by Real Madrid’s pursuit of Paul Pogba this summer.
Man Utd: Pogba won’t transfer before deadline claims pundit
Pogba’s Manchester United future is up in the air with the Frenchman having been linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer.
The midfielder himself admitted he needs a new challenge in June though has featured for the Red Devils during pre-season.
Solskjaer believes Pogba will stay at United but has reportedly not been impressed by Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
The Evening Standard claim the Norwegian believes Zidane is attempting to unsettle his star midfielder.
It’s reported that Solskjaer has taken exception to Zidane’s recent comments stating: “He [Pogba] has always said that he likes Madrid.”
The Standard add that Solskjaer is angered by Zidane’s lack of discretion when it comes to discussing transfers.
It comes with the United boss often remaining tight-lipped on potential deals despite plenty of speculation.
Pogba missed United’s clash with AC Milan last weekend due to a back spasm.
But Solskjaer is confident he will stay at Old Trafford and be ready for the new season.
Asked whether he was concerned about Pogba’s commitment, Solskjaer saud: “I’ve no doubts at all.
“I wasn’t expecting him (on the plane). I spoke to him after training and he didn’t feel right.
“Paul will probably be back early next week training. It’s not an injury, he just felt some pain.
We didn’t want to risk anything this weekend and he should be OK for Chelsea. I hope so.”
United get their season underway by hosting Chelsea on Sunday.
The Red Devils finished sixth last season despite being favourites for the top four at one stage.
