Bruno Fernandes: Man Utd have made NO contact says Castles
Fernandes has been linked with both Manchester United and Tottenham this transfer window, after flourishing for Sporting Lisbon last season.
The Portugal international hit 31 goals from the middle of the park, starring as his side finished third in the Primeira Liga table, behind only Porto and Benfica.
Fernandes initially looked set to join Manchester United but, more recently, Tottenham have emerged as frontrunners in the race for the player's signature.
And Portuguese newspaper O Jogo say the 24-year-old has chosen a move to Spurs.
Tottenham want Fernandes at a time where Christian Eriksen's future is uncertain, with the Denmark international linked with both United and Real Madrid.
It is said that, on Friday, Fernandes informed Sporting that he would like to move to Tottenham rather than United.
The report says that, at the moment, the Portugal international has not tried to force his way out of the club.
But he is hoping that Sporting and Spurs can thrash out an agreement before the Premier League transfer window shuts on August 8.
United are making moves for alternative targets and have prioritised deals for Harry Maguire and the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

Express Sport understands the club are in discussions with Juventus over deals for both Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.
And they are on the verge of announcing Maguire, with the Leicester star currently at the club's Carrington training complex for his medical.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that United do still have an interest in Fernandes - but he isn't a priority.
He said on the Transfer Show: “A lot of Manchester United supporters have said ‘where does this leave us, are we not in the race for Bruno Fernandes anymore?’
“He was a player that United fans were getting excited about.
