Unai Emery handed transfer boost as Arsenal reopen Kieran Tierney talks with Celtic
ARSENAL boss Unai Emery has been handed a major transfer boost in his pursuit of Kieran Tierney after the Gunners reopened talks with Celtic over a possible switch, with the Emirates hierarchy determined to sign the left-back before the end of the transfer window.
Kieran Tierney is currently contracted to Celtic for another four years
Tierney is currently contracted to Celtic for another four years, which leaves the Glaswegians in a strong negotiating position.
If he were to sign for Arsenal, he’d become the first Scot to represent Arsenal in 22 years.
The Gunners made an initial £15m bid for Tierney earlier this summer, but the bid was swiftly rejected by Celtic.
They came back with an improved £25m offer, but the proposal included substantial add-on clauses, and the bid was again rejected.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon said the club haven’t yet received a third bid from Arsenal for Tierney.
Speaking after their 5-0 Champions League qualifiers win over Estonian side Nomme Kalju on Wednesday, Lennon said: “I’ve no idea, to tell you the truth,” when asked whether negotiations were ongoing.
“Never say never on anything really, so we are where we are.
“I’ve not been told anything different from the two bids that have been rejected.”

Arsenal are reportedly lining up alternatives for Tierney in case the deal can’t be reached by the end of the transfer window.
The Gunners confirmed two signings on Thursday, after weeks of speculation surrounding Real Madrid starlet Dani Ceballos, and Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.
Ceballos moves to the Emirates on a one-year loan deal, as he still hopes to force his way back into the Real Madrid squad after a short spell in the Premier League.
Saliba, meanwhile, was loaned straight back to his French club for a single year, and will return to the Emirates next summer.
