Steven Gerrard has been keen to express his desire to remain at Ibrox over the next few seasons while never fully ruling out a move back to his boyhood club.
Gerrard made 710 appearances and scored 186 goals for Liverpool between 1998 and 2015, writing his name into the clubs history books as one of their greatest ever players.
The 39-year-old is currently impressing in his first job as a manager and has his eyes on dethroning Celtic in the Premiership over the coming season.
Although the former LA Galaxy midfielder has stated his desire to remain at Rangers for the foreseeable future, Frank Lampard’s move from Derby to Chelsea suggests that he could return to his former club faster than he originally planned.
The Mirror have now claimed that Gerrard has spoken to each of his new signings to get his commitment to the club across, but a mention of his former club could worry the blue side of Glasgow.
The report claims that Gerrard has told his players that he will only leave Scotland if Liverpool come calling, and if Jurgen Klopp was to walk away from Anfield, that an offer seems quite likely.
In more pressing matters, Gerrard is busy preparing his side for the new season above the border with the single aim of beating their Old Firm rivals to the league title.
Gers fans are content with the business the club have completed in the transfer window so far, with hints that more could be on the way this week.

"There is still a way to go but we have had some progress in the last couple of days.
“If things progress as they have in the last 48 hours, I’m hoping something will get done by the end of the week.”
