Manchester United are believed to be pondering whether to pay the extra £20m quoted, while Manchester City are also still in the race as they look to replace Vincent Kompany.
According to the Leicester Mercury, Leicester have already lined up two potential replacements for Maguire should he leave the King Power Stadium.
Rodgers is cautious that if the transfer saga rolls on deep into this month, he could be left with limited time to sign a new centre-back before the August 8 deadline.
With that in mind the Foxes have drawn up a contingency which includes two targets, England internationals James Tarkowski and Lewis Dunk.

Both are valued at around £40m, which will be significantly less than what Leicester could receive for Maguire.
There is hope that both could fill the void, should United or City seal a deal for the 26-year-old.
Given the recent completion Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s transfer to Old Trafford for £50m, Premier League clubs will be more inclined to increase asking prices.
Leicester will be fearful that could be the case if Maguire leaves, with Burnley and Brighton keen to take advantage of the Foxes’ desperation by demanding more money.
