Man United ‘weren’t prepared to bid for Maguire’ says expert

However, according to TheDaily Star, United are refusing to meet Leicester’s asking price.
They say the Red Devils have pulled out of the race to land the England international after being told to pay £100m - a world-record fee for a defender.
The Star say United valued Maguire at around £60m, with Red Devils chiefs stunned at Leicester’s valuation.
The Foxes want £90m plus £10m in add-ons this summer for the former Hull man.

United will now turn their attention elsewhere, leaving Manchester City in pole position to land Maguire.
Pep Guardiola is keen to sign the Leicester star this summer.
However, The Star add that it’s unclear whether City will pay the £100m asking price.
Should either Manchester club sign Maguire for £100m, it would eclipse the £75m Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk.
