Crystal Palace fans expect Man Utd buying Aaron Wan-Bissaka will spark two transfers - Day
MANCHESTER UNITED signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka would lead to Crystal Palace splashing the cash on a couple of transfers of their own, reckons Eagles fan and comedian Kevin Day.
Wan-Bissaka is reportedly close to completing a move to Manchester United.
The right-back could cost the Red Devils up to £60million, in a deal that would include add-ons.
Wilfried Zaha has also been linked with an exit from Crystal Palace but Day claims it would be easier to replace Wan-Bissaka than the Ivory Coast international.
Day says many Palace fans are already planning what they would do with the Wan-Bissaka money.
He’s a brilliant player, he’s only done it at Palace, I think it’s a risk
He reckons Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne, who came through the academy at Crystal Palace and made over 100 appearances for the club, could be an option to replace the 21-year-old.
And Day claims fans also want a new striker to be brought to the club.
“A good window for us would be keeping [Wan-Bissaka and Zaha],” Day said on talkSPORT.
“Inevitably we’d lose one of them. Most Palace fans, if we’re going to lose one, there are other right-backs out there.
“He’s a brilliant player, he’s only done it at Palace, I think it’s a risk. £50m for Wan-Bissaka would be fantastic.
“And then I think everyone has got it worked out in the Palace pubs.
“‘We’ll get £50m for Wan-Bissaka, we’ll spend £20m on Nathaniel Clyne, £30m on a 40-goal-a-season striker, let’s book the Champions League places now’."
Day believes Palace would be right to demand as much as £110m for Zaha this summer.
“The Zaha thing, you can’t replace Wilf,” he added.
“There are no other Wilf Zaha’s out there.
“Steve Parish’s logic is quite simple. Relegation would cost us £110m overnight, we’d lose £110m.
“So relegation is more likely without Wilf Zaha, so I’m going to ask for £110m for anybody who wants to buy Wilf Zaha.
“It’s a perfectly logical scenario from where I’m sitting.”
