Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United has been uncertain for several months, despite his renaissance after Jose Mourinho’s departure.
The France international is a target for Italian champions Juventus, who sold the 26-year-old back to the Red Devils in the summer of August 2016.
Pogba is keen for a new challenge after another turbulent season at Old Trafford, and Neville reckons his old side should cash in on the World Cup winner as soon as possible.
“They don't have to keep any player,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Manchester United are a better team when Paul Pogba plays but if players don't want to be at the club - that doesn't mean Pogba, he may want to be at the club - you have to get everybody onside and aligned with where you're going.
“Ultimately, that's the first thing Ole had to do - to work out who was going to be ready for the club moving forward.
“I'm still unsure on many players. I see the speculation on Sky Sports News and online and it looks like it could be moving all the time.
“You've got to get players in before you let them go because being armed with the money makes you vulnerable.”

Pogba stunned United fans earlier this month by revealing his desire to end his second stint at the Theatre of Dreams.
"Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,” he told reporters during an Adidas event in Tokyo.
"For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody.
"Like everywhere else.
