Tottenham midfielder Eriksen put his future in doubt earlier this month when he hinted that he fancied a new challenge in football.
The Denmark international has been one of the top playmakers in the Premier League since moving to White Hart Lane in 2013 after Gareth Bale moved to Real Madrid.
Despite his impressive tally of both goals and assists, Eriksen has failed to win a major trophy during his time in England and the 27-year-old is now desperate to add to his slim medal collection.
Although Zinedine Zidane is contemplating making an offer for the former Ajax man, it’s not all bad news for Spurs fans.
Pochettino's future seems secure with both Madrid and Manchester United appointing long-term managers toward the end of the season, and he is now set to break his transfer drought in the coming weeks.
One player they could get their hands on without spending a penny is Spain international Marco Asensio, who has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu, The Sun say.
The 23-year-old stole the limelight back in 2016/17 when he scored 10 goals during his first season as Madrid player.
He followed that up with 11 goals in 2017/18 when he became known for his accurate long-range shooting.

The former Mallorca forward failed to impress during a turbulent campaign last time out, and has dropped further down the pecking order after Eden Hazard joined from Chelsea.
The Sun have claimed that although Madrid have offered £45million plus Dani Ceballos for Eriksen, Pochettino is holding our for the more experienced Asensio.
Eriksen cost Spurs a bargain £10.9m and has stayed loyal to the north London club up until this season when he chose to stall talks surround an extended contract as he targets a move.
Eriksen told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet: "I feel that I am at a stage of my career where I would like to try something new.
