They’ve already got one brick around their neck with Alexis Sanchez. Why do you want another one?
Steve Nicol on why Man Utd should not sign Gareth Bale
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett said earlier this week he could see the 29-year-old fitting in at Old Trafford but claimed a deal was very unlikely to happen.
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes it would be wrong for United to take on someone with the wages of Bale having already got Alexis Sanchez at the club.
Sanchez is United’s highest earner but has struggled ever since his move from Arsenal 18 months ago.

Gareth Bale: Man United transfer looks unlikely says pundit
“They’ve already got one brick around their neck with Alexis Sanchez.
“Why do you want another one in Gareth Bale?
“He’s never in a million years going to be able to play a full Premier League season.
“He couldn’t do it in La Liga, how’s he going to do it in the Premier League?

“You’ve already got Sanchez.”
Alejandro Moreno agreed with Nicol and says it would be irresponsible for United to sign Bale.
“If you don’t learn from the Alexis Sanchez situation that you have sitting right there next to you and then you go and jump on Gareth Bale, it’s irresponsible,” Moreno said.
