Manchester United transfer committee slammed by pundit
Executive vice-chairman Woodward has reportedly decided against appointing a sporting director.
Woodward, who has come under severe criticism for his role at the club, looks set to once again be in charge of new signings.
A transfer committee looks set to formed with former Manchester United players Rio Ferdinand, Darren Fletcher and Patrice Evra potentially involved in discussing incomings.
But ESPN FC pundit Burley has questioned why United need a committee to decide who they sign.

And he pointed to how rivals Liverpool were able to bring in the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson without such a setup.
“Did Liverpool need a committee to sign Van Dijk?” Burley quipped.
“Let me think, or Alisson? Let me think.
“That really takes a committee doesn’t it, to go out and find a top player who’s wanted by everybody.

“That’s really a big committee decision.
“They’ve got a poor footballing guy making decisions in Ed Woodward, they’ve got a poor manager in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they’ve got a poor team.
“Simple.”
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol is also not a fan of United’s committee idea.
