Matthijs de Ligt: Ronald Koeman reveals ’secret’ transfer talks
The towering centre-back was on target for Holland against England in their UEFA Nations League semi-final triumph.
After bringing down Marcus Rashford for a penalty, he made amends by scoring the equaliser with a thunderous header in the second half of the 3-1 win.
While De Ligt is still yet to make a decision over where he will move to this summer, the Manchester United board are convinced he will join Barcelona, according to the Evening Standard.
Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on signing him from Ajax, while Bayern Munich are believed to have pulled out of the race.
Team-mate Frenkie de Jong is hoping that De Ligt will follow him to Catalonia this summer.
The midfielder sealed a £65million switch to Barcelona in January and will move to the Camp Nou from Amsterdam this summer.
“He has to make his own decisions,” De Jong said after reaching the Nations League final.
"Of course I would like him to come to Barcelona but we will see what happens. It's up to him.

"I don't know, it's his decision. You have to ask him about it but I hope he comes to Barca."
De Jong admitted that he has discussed De Ligt’s future with him, but it’s down to the defender to decide for himself.
”Of course we talk about it [De Ligt joining Barca]. It's not up to me to say what he's going to do or his thoughts,” he added.
"I don't have an influence on his choice. He has to make it on his own and with his family."
