Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW38
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE managers have one last chance to maximise their points before the end of the 2018/19 season – so who will you sign and sell ahead of GW38?
The Premier League is almost over for another campaign but there is still plenty to play for with the title race going right down to the wire between Liverpool and Manchester City.
There are also plenty of Fantasy Premier League points still to be earned on the final day but a host of selection issues are complicating matters.
Roberto Firmino is ruled out, FPL favourite Son Heung-min is suspended and Tottenham will otherwise surely be focused on getting their star men fit in time for the Champions League final.
There is also a battle for fourth place while the last day of the season tends to throw up some high-scoring results as players look forward to their summer holidays – but who should you sign and sell before the 2pm deadline?
Top FPL transfer tips
DEF: Michael Keane (Everton) – £4.8m
While Lucas Digne has been a revelation at Goodison Park this season, the Frenchman could be at risk of rotation if Marco Silva opts to give Leighton Baines a run-out.
Keane is a more secure option, and Everton will hope to add to their seven clean sheets in the past 10 matches when they travel to face an injury-ravaged Tottenham.
MID: Paul Pogba (Manchester United) – £8.6m
The most popular replacement for the suspended Son Heung-min, with United hosting relegated Cardiff at Old Trafford.
FWD: Divock Origi (Liverpool) – £5.0m
Firmino has definitely been ruled out while Mohamed Salah is carrying a knock so Origi is almost certain to feature in the deciding clash with Wolves if he can shake off a muscle strain of his own.
In-form FPL players
FWD: Callum Wilson (Bournemouth – £6.8m) – 8.8 form
Two double-digit points hauls in his last four fixtures put Wilson among the hottest FPL properties heading into the final week.
DEF: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool – £5.8m) – 9.8 form
Four assists in his last three represent outstanding attacking returns while the Reds also have three clean sheets in four.
MID: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool – £13.2m) – 10.0 form
The Egyptian has 22 goals so far this season, including three in his past two, and will surely be called upon once more as Liverpool target the title.
Best-value FPL bargains
GKP: Sergio Rico (Fulham – £4.4m) – 1.6 value
Fulham have enjoyed a resurgence in recent weeks, recording three clean sheets in their last four, and Rico has represented excellent value for those managers lucky enough to have him.
DEF: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool – £5.8m) – 1.7 value
The impressive recent attacking returns from Alexander-Arnold have seen his price rise dramatically.
However, the full-back is still excellent value compared to some of his team-mates.
GKP: Mark Travers (Bournemouth – £4.0m) – 2.0 value
Only introduced into the game this week following his stellar performance last time out against Spurs, but definitely one to keep an eye on in 2019/20.

Who should I captain in FPL GW38?
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) vs Cardiff City (H)
A differential pick with most managers likely to hand the armband to Manchester City or Liverpool assets.
A common cliche, but United are due a big performance with many stars playing for their futures – or looking to put themselves in the shop window.
Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) vs Brighton & Hove Albion (A)
Struggling for form in recent weeks as City rely upon their lesser lights for winning goals, but the England international was on target against the Seagulls earlier this season.
TOP CHOICE: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)
A doubt due to his head injury against Newcastle but should feature with Liverpool needing to win while hoping City drop points.
Salah is the Reds’ best hope of a breakthrough against Wolves and our captain choice for GW38.
