Man United: Pundit says Martial should be sold in the summer
Manchester United are set for a major overhaul in the transfer market.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed there will be players leaving the club.
Former Sunderland defender Michael Gray has named six players he would get rid of if he was in charge at Old Trafford.
Those are defenders Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Ashley Young, as well as forwards Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.
I would try my best to get what I could for Sanchez, I’d give Martial a piggyback to wherever he wants to go
However, he would give left-back Luke Shaw a last chance to prove himself.
“Chris Smalling’s got to leave the club, Phil Jones is a must to leave the club,” Gray said on talkSPORT.
“They have done their time at Manchester United, they’ve been good servants, but they’re not good enough to play for Manchester United anymore.
“Ashley Young I don’t think is good enough to play for Manchester United anymore.
“I don’t think he’d get in any of the sides from seventh down to tenth. Now we’re talking about Manchester United here.
“Luke Shaw, I don’t know what his problem is. I was a big fan of his when they signed him.
“I know he’s had a couple of injuries, so maybe you’ve got to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him time.
“They definitely need midfield players, definitely need midfield players.
“I would try my best to get what I could for Sanchez, I’d give Martial a piggyback to wherever he wants to go.
Man Utd: Sanchez is a ‘disease’ in the dressing room says pundit
“I don’t think Romelu Lukaku is the right fit for Manchester United.
“People might question that because he’s a goalscorer but, and a truly mean this, he’s got the worst first touch I have ever seen from a centre forward playing in the Premier League.
“And I truly believe that. I’m not saying he’s a bad player. He’s a very good player, but he’s not the right fit for Manchester United.
“I’d obviously keep [Marcus] Rashford but Man United have got a heck of a lot of work to do to get back to where they should be.
“Not where they want to be, where they should be.”
