Arsenal news: Laurent Koscielny agent delivers worrying transfer update on Gunners future
ARSENAL star Laurent Koscielny is uncertain of his future with the Gunners, according to the player’s agent.
Arsenal: Ramsey is 'still fighting for the club' says Koscielny
Arsenal star Koscielny is facing an uncertain future in north London, with the France international’s contract expiring at the end of next season.
The defender has found his season marred by injuries and is no longer a guaranteed starter under Unai Emery.
The Arsenal star said back in August that he could leave at the end of the campaign, saying: "I'm under contract until June 2020. Afterwards? I'm thinking of moving on, but I do not know where.
"This is not relevant anyway. I am in England, my family too. Then there will inevitably be a lot of question marks.
"The bottom line is to have health. I learned to revitalise because there are so many more serious things in life."
And Koscielny’s agent, Stephane Courbis, has confirmed the 33-year-old is heading for showdown talks with the Arsenal hierarchy.
"We will take some thinking time, we will meet with the club at the end of the season,” he told France Football.
"He will also make up his own mind."
Meanwhile, Koscileny recently hobbled out of Arsenal’s 3-1 Europa League win over Valencia on Thursday.
And, speaking ahead of their Premier League clash with Brighton on Sunday, Emery provided an injury update.
“I hope that Koscielny is going to be okay for Sunday and the second leg away, but I don't know,” the Spaniard said.
“Laurent was very tired and he ran back with the transitions in the second half 50 metres for a sprint, and it's normal that he can be tired or struggling.
“I prefer to change him to give this ten minutes to Nacho Monreal after his small injuries, to help us and to save minutes for Laurent Koscielny.”
Arsenal could lose more than one defender this summer.
Shkodran Mustafi has been tipped to leave with reports suggesting the Gunners have lost faith in the Germany international.
Carl Jenkinson is also expected to be cut loose.
And Calum Chambers may leave once his loan spell at Fulham comes to an end.
