Cristiano Ronaldo: Juventus star hints at next challenge - ‘why not?’
CRISTIANO RONALDO has hinted he could move into coaching once he hangs up his boots.
Cristiano Ronaldo scores 600th goal of his career
The 34-year-old moved to Juventus from Real Madrid in the summer and recently helped them win their eighth Serie A title in a row.
While he was unable to inspire them to success in the Champions League, Ronaldo insists he is loving life in Italy after scoring 26 goals in all competitions this season.
By lifting the Scudetto, the Portuguese superstar became the first-ever player to win domestic titles in England, Spain and Italy.
And he says he is delighted to have adapted to his new surroundings so quickly.
“The first thing I do when I get to a new club is to be myself, not anything else,” he said.
“My work ethic is always the same. You must be humble and remember that you don’t know everything.
“If you’re smart, you catch the little things that improve you as an athlete. I adapted perfectly at Juve. They’ve seen that I’m not a fraud.
“Only football and normal things have been talked about in the dressing rooms I’ve been in, nothing more or less.”
Ronaldo was then asked about his next move and whether he would consider moving in to coaching.
He replied: “Why not?”
Meanwhile, Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has pleaded with the club to resign Ronaldo, who was at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2009 before his cord-breaking move to Real Madrid.
They were linked with a sensational reunion before he signed for Juve and Lingard admits he would love the chance to play alongside him.
“I would love to sign Ronaldo,” the England international said.
“He has been one of the best players in the world over the last decade.
“He has been here before so he would slot right back in.
“Growing up he was just unbelievable to watch in a United shirt, so on a personal note it would be amazing to play with him.”
