Rangers ace Ryan Kent makes statement on summer move - Gers loanee WILL leave Liverpool
RANGERS star Ryan Kent has made it clear he would “consider” a move to Rangers after becoming frustrated with the lack of opportunities at his parent club Liverpool.
Rangers: Ryan Kent claims he ‘wants to make an impact’ at Gers
Kent has been in great form for Rangers this season and Gers boss Steven Gerrard has expressed his interest in bringing the youngster back to Ibrox next season.
However, if Rangers are to make his loan deal a permanent move, they would likely have to dig deep into their pockets as the 22-year-old still has three years remaining on his Reds’ contract.
Kent, who is shortlisted for the PFA Scotland player and young player of the year awards, is grateful for the opportunities he has been given by Gerrard and revealed he wants to join a club who have the ambition to win trophies.
“I want to kick- start my career somewhere now,” Kent said.
angers is something that is being discussed right now and something I would consider
“I am tired of changing clubs each year and want to settle down.
“Liverpool have been good to me, but going back there each year and doing well in pre-season and then going back out on loan is a repetitive cycle.
“Rangers is something that is being discussed right now and something I would consider. I am considering many things after this season.
“Steven Gerrard has provided opportunities for me. I could have gone to other clubs last summer but I wouldn’t have had the chance to play in the Europa League.
“If I get opportunities during the summer, I’d want a club with ambition, that’s driven with its fans to win silverware.
“I don’t want to join a team that’s just taking part because that’s not going to get the best out of me.”
Kent admitted he feels at home with Rangers and has credited Gerrard and his staff for helping develop his game where others have failed to do so.
“I’ve felt comfortable here, I’ve felt at home,” he added.
“The coaching staff and manager have found areas in my game to improve that other managers haven’t.
“That’s no disrespect to them, but I’ve really enjoyed myself on and off the pitch and that has been a massive factor in my performances.”
Rangers: Ryan Kent reacts after winning Young Player of the Year
Last month Gerrard said he wanted Kent to return next season, but was unsure what Liverpool value him at, or even if they are willing to sell their young prospect.
As for Kent, he revealed he will be looking at his options in the summer.
“I want to finish the season as strongly as possible,” Kent said.
“Then I’ll sit down with my representatives for more discussions.”
