Tim Sherwood can only name SIX Manchester United players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must keep
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told the six players he must build his team around.
Solskjaer is set to revamp his Manchester United squad in the summer in his first transfer window in permanent charge of the club.
The Norwegian has promised supporters there will be changes in the playing squad, both in and out of the club.
That comes after a run of results which has seen United lose seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.
Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has had his say on what Solskjaer should do with his squad in the summer.
After that, I’ll be scratching my head to really rubber stamp and say ‘you need to keep this one’
Sherwood could name just six players he would keep at United.
Those were Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Scott McTominay, David De Gea, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw.
“Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, McTominay,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions.
“Listen, I hold my hands up, I don’t think he’s the most talented player in their squad.
“But he’s a squad member and he cares about the football club.
“De Gea, I would say Lindelof has had a massive improvement under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“He’s someone who will continue to develop.
“After that, I’ll be scratching my head to really rubber stamp and say ‘you need to keep this one’.
“I think they need to go into the transfer market, obviously you can’t keep all of them.
“[Ashley] Young has got to go in my opinion, I think you can persevere with Luke Shaw.
“I would keep Luke, I think that he would buy into you.
“I think that he plays the Manchester United way. I think he’s a dynamic player going forward.”
