Neville says Emery’s task was also made harder by playing in the Europa League, meaning less Saturday matches.
Neville believes there are still many question marks over the Arsenal squad, which makes their season even more remarkable.
“For them to be where they are, in front of Chelsea with a game in hand, navigating through the Europa League which I’ve always talked about on this programme over three, four, five years about how difficult it is to play Thursdays and Sundays, out of sync with a normal week and all the teams that usually struggle with that, I think it’s a brilliant performance,” the former United right-back said.
“When you think of the fact Chelsea, Manchester United have spent a fortune.

“And yet he’s getting that level of performance out of them.
