MANCHESTER UNITED assistant manager Mike Phelan has urged the Old Trafford faithful to get fully behind their team ahead of their Champions League clash against Barcelona.

The Red Devils host Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday evening.
Manchester United have impressed under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite a slight dip in form in recent weeks.
Solskjaer’s men know they must get a result at Old Trafford, with United travelling to the Nou Camp for the second leg.
And Phelan has urged the United faithful to get behind Solskjaer’s side, demeaning Old Trafford is rocking.

And fans were in meltdown following Phelan’s message, with United supporters praying for a historic win against Barcelona.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Can't wait Mike. Hopefully we get revenge after or champion's league final defeats. Come on United.”

“Lets do this Mike!” a fellow fan simply put.

United know they must stop Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi tonight, with the Argentina international in sensational form.

However, despite Messi netting 43 goals in all competitions this season, United defender Chris Smalling reckons the Red Devils are ready to stop the forward.
"It's something to relish I think," he said.
"This season, we have been lucky enough to face [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Kylian] Mbappe and they are all challenges that I definitely relish and I think players at this club relish.
"I say bring it on."
