Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rocked by major problem that could dent top four hopes
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER is going to have to work around an attacking injury crisis if Manchester United are going to secure a top four finish.
Marcus Rashford injury CONFIRMED by Gareth Southgate
Life has been more than rosy for the Baby-faced Assassin since returning to Old Trafford in December.
But a first Premier League defeat against Arsenal followed by FA Cup elimination at Wolves has brought the Norwegian back down to earth.
As we approach the business end to the season, Solskjaer is now going to have to show his adaptability as a manager with a number of key decisions after being hit by an injury crisis in attack.
Marcus Rashford became his latest attacker to sustain a problem while on international duty.
Gareth Southgate confirmed ahead of England’s match with the Czech Republic that the forward had aggravated an already existing injury.
He said: "It's clear to us he's not ready for our two matches so we have sent him back to his club.”
But Rashford isn’t the only Mancheter United star that’s been left needing attention while away with their country.
Romeu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic have all returned to Manchester.
Luckily for Solskjaer, his side do not play until next Saturday when they entertain Watford.
As it stands, United have no first team forwards fit and available for selection.
Lukaku was sent home by former Everton boss Roberto Martinez after being unable to participate in Belgium training.
The extent of his injury is not yet known but he did undergo scans on his foot before joining up with his country, sparking fears to problem is worse than first thought.
France also allowed Martial to return to his club too after a problem with his right knee that his troubled him in recent weeks.
This might have been the perfect time for Alexis Sanchez to finally ignite his United career but the Chilean may not play again this season after suffering damage to his ligaments.
United will be desperate not to lose any more ground on fourth placed Arsenal and Solskjaer maybe forced to think outside the box with his team selection against the Hornets.
He will be hoping that Jesse Lingard will be fit enough to participate, the England international is currently training away in Dubai but could be ready in time for the clash.
